Be (YOU)nique

One of the hardest things in life can be accepting and respecting who we are. It can be hard work learning to feel comfortable in our own shoes! Sometimes it can be reassuring to know that we are not alone in this quest.

Be (YOU)nique is a booklet about body image and self-esteem which was developed and produced by a group of young women and supported by the YWCA of Canberra.

Be (YOU)nique Be (YOU)nique (902 KB)

This positive, fresh and funky booklet is a collection of stories, experiences and insights. Be (YOU)nique provides a safe space for young women to explore, recognise and nurture their inner knowledge, strength and beauty.

Be (YOU)nique encourages young women to question and discuss the influx of media-created body beautiful images through recognising and embracing the uniqueness of every single one of us. The fact that the booklet has been written by young women is important because they know the audience and the issues.

The Be (YOU)nique booklet is currently not available for distribution but is available to download. We also have a fabulous fair trade Be (You)nique T-shirt available for purchase.
