Calm Living – nurturing healthy neighbourhoods

The Calm Living – Nurturing Healthy Neighbourhoods booklet aims to provide a vehicle for empowering tenants to look for solutions to disputes and provide strategies, options and services that may be able to assist them, and encourage tenants supporting each other.

The YWCA of Canberra’s Tuggeranong Community Linkages Program received funding from ACT Health Promotion Grants to hold workshops in conjunction with the Conflict Resolution Service on improving communication skills and ways to handle neighbourhood disputes. A small amount of funding remained after the completion of the workshops and a small working group of service providers developed the booklet for tenants.

Members of the working group included: Woden Community Service’s Community Linkages Program, Conflict Resolution Service’s Healthy Neighbourhoods Project and the YWCA of Canberra’s Tuggeranong Linkages Program.

For copies of the Calm Living booklet please contact the Tuggeranong Community Linkages Program based at the Mura Lanyon Youth and Community Centre on 02 6294 4633.
