Exploring the needs of older women

In 2009 the YWCA of Canberra undertook a community study to learn more about the needs of women in our community as they age. This study titled ‘Exploring the needs of older women in the Canberra community’ is now complete and a report expressing the views and sharing the stories of the participants is now available.

The purpose of the research was to learn more about the issues facing older women in our local community, to understand the services available and to identify any gaps in services. It is hoped that this research will assist the YWCA of Canberra and other local organisations to respond to the aspirations and needs of our community as it ages.
